    Contrary to statements apparently due to the G.A.R. plaques at his and his wife's graves, I have found no record or other indication that he served in the Civil War. While possible, he was only 15 when the war ended.

(prononced gone) grandfather I understand was born in Penn. and they moved out here when he was 6 years old. his father entered land at what is now Collison. he had a twen Brother so I have been told that died in infancy. he had a sister. her first husband was Sweet the second was Frenchman, LaRue. All of Grandfathers children were born at Marysville which was changed to Potomac on the farm on Bean Creek."

    Hi... are your Fountain Co, IN BENNETT's related to Caleb BENNETT of Vermilion Co, IL? Caleb's son Charles N. m. my Mary Elizabeth HEWITT in the 1870's. They then went to Iowa.
